Go Kenny Go!

There was a famous SNL video with Martin Short and Christopher Guest that poked fun of synchronized swimming. It featured two guys who didn’t really know how to swim, but had a lot of artistic vision. The sport has always been dominated by women. That isn’t to say that many of us men (whether you admit it or not) have done a bit of water ballet in our neighborhood pools growing up. I distinctly remember re-enacting a dolphin story that featured sharks and pirates…a story that perhaps foreshadowed the rise of Alexis the lesbian dolphin later in life. I never had the guts to take my aqua moves to the next level. Perhaps it was just too soon. The 80’s were a very unforgiving time.

But things might be changing for would be aqua dancers of the male persuasion. Kenyon Smith, a member of the unfortunately named “Aquamaids” of Santa Clara, California is pushing the boundries of the sport. He earned a spot on the olympic synchronized swimming team, but was denied because of his penis.

The Burger King Bathhouse

Need a reason to stay away from fast food?  Well, the next time you find yourself putting the turn signal on to pull into a Burger King, just visualize this.

Burger King Corp. said Tuesday it has parted ways with an employee who was recorded taking a soapy bath in the restaurant’s utility sink in a Xenia, Ohio Burger King. The nearly four-minute video, which was posted Thursday on MySpace.com, shows the unidentified employee taking the bath to celebrate his birthday.

The worker, who refers to himself as “Mr. Unstable,” appears to be naked.

Burger King spokeswoman Denise Wilson said two employees involved in the incident were fired and another quit. She declined to identify the employees or say whether the man who took the bath quit or was fired.

Boba-FlashDance!

You walk into a bar and there they are, big burly masculine men. Arms and buns of steel.  You get a  sense that they are able to communicate in grunts and sniffs and people seem to tread lightly around them.  And then it happens… the music starts to play.  Suddenly he-man becomes a twisting, twirling, dancing machine!  He transcends gender and gravity to become:  Boba-Flashdance!

I Wanna Make Love (in this substandard pizza joint)

This video is a part of a pretty substantial set of youtube videos featuring the animatronic robots formerly of “ShowBiz Pizza” restaurants.I totally remember going to these restaurants as a kid and LOVING the robot animal music shows.  I believe their band was called “Rock a Fire Explosion”.  Their rock show was pretty tame, but now things have changed as people are buying them up and reprogramming them with modern and racy hits such as this.  I also recommend  “4 Minutes” and” Pop Drop and Lock It”.  Its as if these trapped animals have suddenly rebelled and found their rock and roll voices.

Episode 135

www.mopodshow.com

This week on the MoPod Show we work our way through the gay dating and the reliability of craigslist’s missed connections listings. Dangina is still working through his California cultural phobias and the loss of his Kenneth Cole sunglasses. A big shout out to our John in San Francisco and his husband on their wedding. Congrats.

We’ll explore STFree as a tool for navigating the dating and sex world . Ruphus is skeptical, but we think it might be an interesting tool for getting people to think about keeping their testing status current.

We are considering starting our own dating site “Jews 4 Peasha” so we can get our boy out on a date. No matter what you search on the site, Peasha’s profile will appear. He prefers “Gay Schiksa.com” but, we’ll see how it all comes out.

Our woof of the week is HOT! See our earlier post for all his woofy details.

Riki Oh: The Story of Riki

One my favorite things from my weekend in Hollywood was Saturday night’s late show at the ‘silent movie theatre‘. The place was very cool and although it was once dedicated to silent films, these days it has much more of a rock and roll art house feel. We happened upon the final piece in their current series: “Holyfuckingshit- Comedy Gore”. The movie we saw was Riki Oh! And it was a total blood fest complete with awful dialogue badly translated. A must see to believe. One of my favorite things was this very corrupt associate warden who had a double hook for a hand and a glass eye. He could remove his eye which was hollow and filled with tiny breath mints. WFT?!

Just to give you a taste of this crazy movie, I found a clip on youtube featuring Riki fighting one of his many many enemies, Oscar. For my money, Oscar (and his tatoos) is probably the hottest of the men to be demolished by Riki. You have to give extra credit to anyone who has “the guts” to attempt to strangle their opponent with their intestines.

Obviously, if you get the chance…SEE THIS MOVIE. Preferably with the really bad english translations.

He’s got Peasha MoPod Eyes

We kid Peasha a lot about his eyes and the fact that many times one of them seems to be a tiny bit larger than the other.  The oddest part of the whole thing is that it isn’t only eye.  They can alternate.  Here’s some video that simulates what it might look like if both eyes were to begin expanding.  Brace yourself.

When Democracy and Public Speaking Meet Mental Illness

This video was thrown my way yesterday. I watched it three times and am still not sure what the hell this guy is so pissed off about. It seems to have something to do with ice, professional sports owners, national security and rogue helicopter pilots. The guy looses his shit while speaking at a city council meeting while I’m guessing a room full of people looked around at each other with uncomfortable glances.

What’s your favorite quote from this guy?
